Learning Resources GeoSafari Jr. Kidnoculars

We received these super Learning Resources GeoSafari Jr. Kidnoculars to try and review from Learning Resources.

I was in the midst of trying to work out which binoculars would be best suited to buy for the kids when we received the Kidnoculars - so as you can imagine I was elated.

Firstly, I love the take on the name- a great use of kid and binoculars to come up with a funky name that sums up the product!

Kidnoculars offers screen free play and exploration for hours on end. The outdoors has so much to see and discover and Kidnoculars allows children to explore the wild with ease.

Little person has thoroughly enjoyed using his Kidnoculars, using them to search for insects, birds and much more. The endless adventures have been great, allowing lots of outdoor fun (and some good old fresh air).

Kidnoculars is focus-free 2x binoculars; and I must admit I have thoroughly enjoyed getting a chance to have a quick peak using them. I haven't come across a 'toy' offering so much ease and clear focal view before.

The other great thing about Kidnoculars is the ease when handling them. Both 7 and 3 year old can use the Kidnoculars without issues such as the Kidnoculars slipping through their hands. In the photos they appear to be me made of clear smooth plastic (a smooth plastic that could become slippery in hands); but in actual fact the purple pieces are made from a rubber material. The eyepiece area (purple area that is held near eyes) is much softer, so even if the child pushes the Kidnoculars quite aggressively to their face, there is minimal risk of harm. The areas where little hands hold the Kidnoculars is also designed to offer lots of grip, making it very unlikely for the Kidnoculars to slip out of anyones hands. The rubber protection also makes the Kidnoculars shock proof, which is an added bonus, as well as being waterproof. This makes taking the Kidnoculars outdoors much more fun, without the stress of damaging these. Furthermore, another vital feature is the breakaway neck strap; and it goes without saying how important such a feature is on a child/rens product.

The actual eyepieces within the Kidnoculars are large, this makes it super easy for the children to use- no squinting (or children trying to wink!). 3 year old uses the Kidnoculars with ease due to this feature, and can join in on all the exploration adventures alongside 7 year old.

The children have enjoyed using the Kidnoculars , not only outdoors but indoors too. They offer ever so much fun, and it's great to see children enjoying themselves away from television screens, iPads and games consoles. It is also worthwhile to note the Kidnoculars support STEM learning.

As the weather changes for the better, I know we will have many more adventures using the Kidnoculars.

Available to buy on Amazon and directly from Learning resources.

Yipee adventure box - bug hunting theme

Yippee adventure box - bug hunting theme box  We  received  the marvellous Yippee  adventure box to trial, and after having enjoyed the  activities  with both 7 and 3 year old,  I  felt a review was worthwhile.  Yippee boxes are  designed  to encourage science,  technology, engineering, art and maths (STEAM), and 'To  facilitate fun and special family  experiences.' Upon opening the 'Bug box' both kids were  overwhelmed   with  the contents and eagerly dived in, so off we were, on our yippee  adventure! What's in the box? The bug box arrived with two categories of activities, 'Bug homes' and 'Go on a bug adventure'.  Bug homes Bug homes activities  were all about that, making, creating and designing homes for  little  creatures. The  first  activity little person dived into was, making his  spider web and spider. The activities can be easily carried out by children, except using the scissors..

Fusha House arabic

I was kindly offered the opportunity to complete a free session using FushaHouse arabic. Arabic has been a language that I've always wanted to learn, and it's also a language I've been passionate about. As little person has taken to writing and reading in English, Arabic was the second language I wanted him to learn. When learning a language, it is important to find resources that are easy to use, especially for younger learners. Over time I have tried so many books, apps and websites, but if the resource isn't exciting or encapsulating, young leaners loose interest very quickly. There is nothing worse than spending so much money and zero use. Nevertheless, I believe we have found a resource that ticks all the boxes. FushaHouse offers interactive learning, it is also child user friendly and the pace enables children to feel at ease, without feeling overwhelmed very quickly into the process. A lot of language resources seem to very quickly move on from basics to

Endangered animals activity pack

We recently received this wonderful fact filled pack from Archiboldclutterbuck (to read more about Archiboldclutterbuck  resources click here). Contents and what we think The pack is made up of an activity booklet and a poster. The poster is a great visual tool; with in depth (but not overbearing-too much to read) information about 6 critically endangered animals across the globe. Each animal is listed with a fact file (for instance type of animal, habitat etc), and reason as to why they are critically endangered. For each animal listed there is a beautiful photograph; I do believe having photography in such posters and texts is important , as it really does bring the whole concept and idea to 'life'. We love the poster as it's a great size, vibrant and easy to understand, with all the vital information but without too much to read, making it a perfect poster!  The activity pack is what you would ideally expect when teaching endangered animals. Learning fo
