During our home educating journey I made it my aim to share all the great resources we use alongside toys we've found useful and kids enjoy. So, on this list (sharing and caring list!) are bristle blocks. If you haven't come across these, they're soft blocks that easily interlock. The name Bristle comes from their appearance, each block has many bristle like structures, and it is these structures that lock together. As well as the squares, rectangles, there are wheels, triangles, circles, what we call windows (squares without middle section) and 'sticks'. Our set also contains a lovely family with their pet dog, and a few other animals. The blocks are great for all ages and can be used for a variety of games and skills. 3 year old enjoys putting the blocks together and trying to build a large structure, and 7 year old tries to make much more complex structures, such as living room furniture. We received these super Learning Resources GeoSafari Jr. Kidnoculars to try and review from Learning Resources. I was in the midst of trying to work out which binoculars would be best suited to buy for the kids when we received the Kidnoculars - so as you can imagine I was elated. Firstly, I love the take on the name- a great use of kid and binoculars to come up with a funky name that sums up the product! Kidnoculars offers screen free play and exploration for hours on end. The outdoors has so much to see and discover and Kidnoculars allows children to explore the wild with ease. Little person has thoroughly enjoyed using his Kidnoculars, using them to search for insects, birds and much more. The endless adventures have been great, allowing lots of outdoor fun (and some good old fresh air). We were kindly sent 'Meteorology activity book' to review.   Just like the geology book, we have thoroughly enjoyed the meteorology book. Both books are part of the 'STEM starters' and have covered each topic exceptionally well. If you haven't had a chance, have a read of our review of 'Geology activity book' here .  What is the Meteorology book about? 'Meteorology is the study of the weather.' 'Meteorology activity book' covers all areas of meteorology, and as with the geology book, the design, structure, layout and content are brilliant. They encapsulate the targeted audience, and offer lots of fun as well as facts.  What I've throughly enjoyed about these books, is the fact, that the factual information is there, but a lovely activity (be it word search, drawing, maze or colouring) for each sub topic makes learning so much more fun.  Within 'Meteorology activity book' we...

We were kindly sent the 'Geology Activity book' to review. 'Geology activity book' is part of the STEM starters for kids, published by 'b small' publishers. Why we've enjoyed this book The first thing I noticed with this book, was not only the fact that the cover is so beautifully well designed, but I was happy to see an explanation to what geology is and what STEM is. The book intricately explains that 'Geology is the study of what makes up our planet, Earth, our natural landscapes and what is deep below us.' STEM is 'science, technology, engineering and maths' and the book gives a wonderful overview of how the two, geology and STEM are related. Little person has thoroughly enjoyed working through this activity book. He happily stated, 'this book is so much fun, it isn't full of too much writing , which can get boring sometimes'.
